Claire Olson
Associate Marriage and Family Therapist 155981
Therapeutic Focus: My focus is LGBTQ+ affirming care, neurodivergent/neuroqueer affirming care with an emphasis on those who are newly exploring neurodivergence or newly discovering their neurodivergence, trauma/complex trauma, identity exploration, and suicidal ideation - including chronic suicidal ideation.
Schooling and Training: I earned my BS in Gender & Womens Studies and Psychology for the University of Wyoming and my MS in Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from CSU - Fullerton. I completed additional training LGBTQ+ affirmative mental healthcare at the LGBTQ Center OC.
Approach to Therapy: I approach therapy relationally - which means I focus on building up the connection between myself and my clients in order to create a safe and comfortable environment for healing. I maintain an open mind and heart and offer a judgement free space where my clients can be themselves and explore all parts of what makes them who they are. I utilize feminist therapy, client centred therapy, and parts work with clients. I believe playfulness and creativity are an important part of healing - no matter the client's age - so I also like to integrate games, crafts, and other playful activities into therapy as well.
Fun Facts About Me: I was born and raised in Wyoming, I love all things crafty - especially crocheting and sewing, and my favorite color is pink (I wear it everyday!). I'm a swiftie (folklore is my #1), I love TV and documentaries, and going to the beach!
Fees: $170 for individual sessions and $190 for couples/families/poly-cule
