Elliot Thomas, AMFT
Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist 164567

Approach to Therapy:
I believe that people make meaning of their lives through stories, and these stories are shaped by relationships, culture, language, experiences and systems of power. Narrative Therapy offers a non-pathologizing stance and is attentive to cultural, relational, and systemic contexts. This framework allows me to hold both personal responsibility and social awareness, recognizing how larger societal narratives around race, gender, ability, family roles, and success can shape internalized beliefs. With this foundation, I draw from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to address imbalances surrounding behavior, complex emotions, and intrusive thoughts. I am committed to practicing with empathy and curiosity, approaching each client with a genuine desire to understand your unique story rather than making assumptions or imposing interpretations.
